New to attar? You are welcome here.
Understanding fragrance does not need to feel complicated. Here is a simple introduction to the words you may come across while exploring perfume oils.
What is attar?
Attar, also spelled ittar, is associated with a long tradition of oil-based perfumery in India and other regions.
India's city of Kannauj is especially known for its attar heritage. The wider world of attar includes different scents, materials, and production methods.
At Noori, our collection consists of alcohol-free roll-on perfume oils in five scent choices.
What is oud?
Oud is another name for agarwood, an aromatic, resinous wood used in perfumery.
You may encounter oud as a fragrance material or as a scent description in a perfume. The name of a fragrance alone does not tell you its complete ingredients.
Are attar and oud the same?
They are related to the world of fragrance, but they mean different things.
Attar refers to a perfume tradition and category. Oud refers to a fragrant material that can be used in perfumery.
An attar does not have to contain oud. A fragrance described as woody is not automatically an oud fragrance.
What makes Noori's format simple?
Our perfume oils have a roll-on applicator, so you apply a small amount directly rather than spraying.
Each bottle is pocket-sized and contains zero alcohol. Choose 6 ml or 12 ml, depending on your preference and the available options.
